Up to 200 Aircraft: India Aims for Large-Scale Purchase of Il-114-300 and SJ-100

The potential project covers not only the acquisition of airliners but also the transfer of production competencies

Indian airlines have expressed readiness to acquire 100 to 200 Russian Il-114-300 and SJ-100 aircraft. This was announced by Vadim Badeha, CEO of the United Aircraft Corporation.

India was the first to show serious interest in our aircraft. We participated in Wings India, where we showcased the SJ-100 and Il-114-300. Indian airlines expressed demand for the Il-114-300 and SJ-100, with talks about 100-200 aircraft.

In parallel, the Russian side continues to discuss expanding industrial cooperation with India. Earlier, OAK and the Indian company HAL signed an agreement providing for the possibility of organizing licensed production of the SJ-100 in the country.

In addition, the corporation considers the launch of localized production of the Il-114-300 at Indian enterprises to be promising. A separate step in the development of cooperation was a preliminary agreement with the private company Flamingo Aerospace, providing for the supply of six Il-114-300 aircraft.

According to OAK's assessment, the Indian market and neighboring countries are capable of generating demand for several hundred aircraft of this class in the future, making the region one of the key directions for the export of Russian civil aviation equipment.
