International Passport in 10 Days: MFCs Launch New Generation Russian Biometrics

Rostec to install over 2000 Russian cryptobiometric booths in multifunctional service centers across Russia

Over the next year, more than two thousand domestic Portal Rodina cryptobiometric booths will appear in multifunctional centers in Russia and four CIS countries. The project is being implemented by the Analytical Center with the participation of RT-Project Technologies holding (part of Rostec) and Seldon group of companies.

A cryptobiometric booth is an autonomous terminal for automatic collection of biometric data. The device independently photographs the face, scans fingerprints, records a voice sample, performs UV verification of documents, and transmits information via secure channels to the Unified Biometric System and relevant departments.

All the terminal's components are Russian software and parts, ensuring technological independence from foreign supplies.

The implementation of the equipment will significantly reduce the processing time for biometric international passports: from two months to ten working days.

The first samples of Portal Rodina are already being demonstrated at the CIPR-2026 conference in Nizhny Novgorod. After launching in Russia, the equipment will appear at the Osnovanie certification center points in Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. The project's geography is planned to expand further.
