The promising PD-35 power plant with a thrust of more than 35 tons is being created for a domestic twin-engine wide-body long-range aircraft. This was reported by the United Engine Corporation (ODK).

Aviation industry analyst from the Telegram channel SkyExpert highlighted this information as key to the development of the power plant program.

So far, it's far from a tangible engine. So far, there are test benches, plans... But the most important thing is that a twin-engine passenger wide-body aircraft has been announced.

In August 2025, the United Aircraft Corporation patented a new long-range aircraft. In terms of its characteristics, it resembles the American Boeing 787 with a capacity of 236 to 320 seats. The range of the aircraft is up to 13.6 thousand km in the basic version.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, noted that Russia needs its own aircraft for long-range transportation. The official advised to rely on the family of four-engine Il-96, which will require serious modernization. There are no specific deadlines for the development of such an aircraft yet.
