Voronezh Aircraft Manufacturing Company (VASO, part of PJSC "Il" of Rostec) has abandoned an ambitious investment project in the Maslovsky industrial park. They wanted to deploy a plant there for the production of pylons and nacelles for PD-8 and PD-14 worth 10.5 billion rubles.
Now, a similar production, but half the capacity, is planned to be located at the main industrial site of VASO. The volume of investments in the project is estimated at 5 billion rubles.
For this purpose, VASO's facilities will undergo reconstruction of 10 thousand m² of factory buildings. 40 units of new equipment will be placed there - CNC machines and autoclaves for composite production.
The equipment has already passed the contracting stage and is under production. Presumably, by 2028, VASO will reach the design capacity of producing up to 112 motor sets of nacelle units.
The abandonment of the construction of a separate building in the Maslovsky industrial park will significantly reduce investment costs and the time for commissioning new production facilities for the implementation of a comprehensive program for the development of civil aviation.
VASO added that the plant is provided with orders for the main programs at least until 2030.
The main products of the enterprise are Il-96-300 and Il-96-400M long-range airliners. However, in parallel with this, VASO is involved in a large-scale cooperation for the production of MS-21-310, Superjet, Il-114-300 and Il-76MD-90A.
Against this background, it became known that the Il-96-400M program has stalled in Russia. There have been no news about test flights for several months.
