The plan to re-engine the in-service SSJ-100 (Sukhoi Superjet 100) regional passenger aircraft with Russian PD-8 engines remains in place, according to Dmitry Yadrov, head of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya).
This path is of interest to all key operators of this type of aircraft — Rossiya, Azimuth, Red Wings, Severstal.
Yadrov explained that there is no decision yet on the financing of this project. The relevant issue will still be discussed, he summarized.
As of the end of 2025, 159 SSJ-100 aircraft were in operation. PJSC Yakovlev stated that, in total, passenger aircraft of various airlines had flown more than 2 million hours. The SSJ-100 demonstrates reliability and quality.
