The Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Rosaviatsia are discussing with Russian airline S7 the parameters of a possible deal for Tu-214 aircraft. This was reported by Rosaviatsia head Dmitry Yadrov.
According to him, S7 Airlines is showing strong interest in Tu-214 aircraft — the discussion is about approximately 100 aircraft. As part of the negotiations, the key terms of the deal are being discussed: the amount of the leasing payment, the actual intensity of aircraft operation, and approaches to after-sales service. Yadrov emphasized that agreeing on all these parameters requires time and careful work.
Specific details may be announced in February at the NAIS exhibition.
In September 2024, the press service of the head of Tatarstan reported the signing of a memorandum between the United Aircraft Corporation (OAK, part of Rostec) and S7 Airlines. The document provides for joint work on the delivery of 100 upgraded Tu-214 passenger aircraft to expand the carrier's fleet.
