The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) is recording passengers abandoning air transport in favor of ground transport. This was stated by the head of the agency, Dmitry Yadrov.
We are seeing a shift of passengers who used to use aviation, for example, in the airports of the Moscow region.
According to Yadrov, this trend will continue in 2026. Rosaviatsiya believes that about 1 million people will refuse to fly in favor of traveling by rail or car for distances up to 500 km.
Earlier, the head of the agency stated that in 2025, the passenger traffic of domestic airlines amounted to 108.5 million people. This is 2.9% less than in 2024.
