Amur State University (AmSU) plans to launch the third university satellite from the Vostochny Cosmodrome before the end of 2025.
The device is equipped with the Meridian-Amur device for monitoring the accumulation of polluting films on the surfaces of components, which will determine which materials are most sensitive to the space environment. These devices are planned to be used in the future on the Russian-Belarusian satellite as well.
In addition, the satellite is equipped with an advanced propulsion system based on an ablation pulsed plasma engine developed at the Moscow Aviation Institute. It will allow correcting the orientation of the device, extending its service life and controllably deorbiting the satellite, preventing the formation of space debris.
The device was created with the participation of university students as part of the Universat program of the Roscosmos State Corporation for launching small CubeSat-format spacecraft.
