Work on the creation of the RD-0177M oxygen-methane rocket engine continues. This was reported in the press service of the State Corporation "Roscosmos".
With its help, the fuel components in the engine gas generator are ignited.
The first fire test of the electroplasma igniter device was carried out at the Chemical Automation Design Bureau (part of NPO Energomash Roscosmos). The test confirmed the correctness of the engineering design solutions.
The igniter will be transferred for assembly of the first RD-0177M engine.

Three more igniter devices are planned to be tested by the end of 2025.
