As part of planned combat training activities, the Northern Fleet's shipborne minesweeping group ensured the safe exit of a submarine from its base.
The group included the latest minesweeper "Afanasy Ivannikov" and the basic minesweeper "Kotelnich". The sweeping was carried out along the submarine's route out of the Kola Bay.
The ship crews practiced mine countermeasures to ensure deployment in conditions of the simulated enemy's use of mine weapons, including the use of various types of trawls, modern automatic systems, and sonar stations.
The minesweeper"Афанасий Иванников"was built in 2025 at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant of the USC under Project 12700 "Alexandrite" of the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau of the USC and has a unique, the world's largest hull made of monolithic fiberglass, formed by vacuum infusion.
The mass of such a hull is significantly lower than that of a metal one, and the strength is higher, it is not afraid of corrosion, and the service life, subject to operating standards, is unlimited.
Earlier,www1.ru reported thatoperators of robotic Courier drones were trained to control the complex's weapons and maintain it at the training ground.
