The Irkutsk Aviation Plant (part of the United Aircraft Corporation, UAC) has completed the preparation of the second import-substituted MC-21 aircraft. Alexander Veprev, General Director of the enterprise, said that specialists worked around the clock, in three shifts, to integrate and test all onboard systems.
According to him, the machine with number 0013 became a real test bench for working out the equipment.
Engineers tested control systems, brakes, as well as a fully Russian composite wing.
The work was carried out according to a strict schedule. Tests were conducted at night, the results were analyzed in the morning, and new tasks were passed on to the next shift, Veprev added.
Currently, Russian control systems and brake mechanisms have been fully implemented on the MC-21. This approach speeds up certification and ensures the stability of the aircraft.
Executive Director of the Aviaport agency, Oleg Panteleev, stated that the MC-21-310 in the basic version better meets market demands than its foreign competitors.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a Rostec commission with Serdyukov and UAC raided the production of the PD-8 engine.
