The Ministry of Education of Russia officially included a new profession in the list of vocational training specialties on October 9 — "external pilot." The information appeared on the website of the department.
Prior to this, only operators of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) with a take-off weight of up to 30 kg were allowed to be trained under vocational training programs. Now, within the framework of vocational training, it is possible to obtain the qualification of "external pilot," which allows operating UAS with a maximum take-off weight of over 30 kg.
To get a profession, it is not necessary to graduate from a higher flight school. The new rules allow training drone operators on the basis of secondary vocational education institutions.
Established training periods: 3 years 10 months — for graduates of 9 grades, 2 years 10 months — for graduates of 11 grades.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the training of pilots of Tu-95MS and Tu-160 will be revived in Ulyanovsk.
