The first Russian production electric vehicle, Atom, will receive tires with ELECT technology, specially developed by Pirelli and manufactured at the Russian plant in Kirov. The tires are based on a modified Cinturato P7 model, certified according to European ECE standards (E22).
The new model takes into account the specifics of operation on electric vehicles, such as the heavy weight from the battery, instantaneous high torque, and the need for silence, providing lower rolling resistance to increase range, and also showing better wear resistance. Due to these qualities, the tires also help to use battery power more efficiently, contribute to improving safety by increasing the contact area with asphalt by 3.5% and improved pressure distribution.
Tire specifications: the size is 215/55 R17, and the load index is 98, which allows withstanding up to 750 kilograms per wheel. The speed index is V, which means operation is allowed up to 240 km/h. The weight of one tire is about 10 kilograms with a tolerance of ±3%.
It should be noted that, according to plans, tests, crash tests and certification of the electric vehicle should take place before the end of this year, and it is also planned to establish mass production.
Earlierwww1.ru wrote that the Atom electric vehicle waspresented in the Stavropol Territory.
