An accident occurred with an Il-96-400T aircraft at Yakutsk airport. During landing, several tires of the left main landing gear were destroyed, and the brake drums caught fire.
The landing gear fire was quickly extinguished. To evacuate the aircraft, more than 60 tons of cargo were unloaded on the runway, after which the runway was cleared.
Rosaviatsia representative Artem Korenyako clarified that no one was injured in the incident. There were a total of nine people on board.
The airport was closed for approximately 8 hours. During the suspension of aircraft acceptance, two Yakutia flights diverted to alternate airfields: from St. Petersburg to Neryungri and from Irkutsk to Khabarovsk.
