Russian long-range bombers Tu-22M3 are able to last longer than Tu-95 and Tu-160, according to the foreign publication Military Watch Magazine.
Journalists recalled that the Tu-22M3 is lighter and has a shorter flight range than the intercontinental Tu-160 and Tu-95MS.
The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) in the late 2010s expanded the Tu-22M3 fleet, withdrawing a small number of bombers from storage, and these aircraft were modernized to the Tu-22M3M standard.
There is every reason to believe that the Tu-22M3 will serve longer than the Tu-95MS and Tu-160.
While the new intercontinental PAK DA is being developed as a successor to both the Tu-95MS and Tu-160, the Tu-22M3 medium-range has no direct successor at the moment, which increases the likelihood that it may continue to serve longer than the other two classes of Russian bombers, the authors of the material believe.
It should be noted that all operated Tu-22M3s were produced before 1994, which leads to their wear and tear. The media also wrote about serious problems with the engines and onboard equipment of the aircraft.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Su-34, Su-35S and Su-57 fighters have aroused great interest abroad.
