MC-21-310 performs flight as part of certification tests of external lighting equipment

Pulse beacons are visible in flight at a distance of at least 40 km

The MC-21-310 experienced import-substituted aircraft with tail number 73055 performed a series of flights as part of the certification test program to evaluate external lighting equipment, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) press service reported.

The UAC noted that pulse beacons are visible in flight at a distance of at least 40 km, which is an important parameter for safety and navigation.

The tests were carried out at different stages of the flight - during taxiing on the runway, takeoff, approach, landing and taxiing.

Pilots assessed the direction of the light flux and the level of illumination of the runway surface using taxiing and landing lights, and also analyzed the effect of glare from headlights, pulse and fuselage beacons, and navigation lights.

The aircraft is equipped with completely domestic external lighting equipment developed by the Scientific and Production Center "NII Microdevices", including landing, taxiing and turning lights. During the tests, the high reliability and efficiency of the equipment was confirmed.

Earlier www1.ru reported that certification of Il-114-300 has reached the finish line.
