Cognitive Pilot to create a robotic tractor station in the Amur Region

Autonomous tractors with AI will be able to cultivate up to 15,000 hectares of fields

A pilot robotic tractor station (RTS) is being created in the Amur Region using autonomous tractors equipped with artificial intelligence technologies. An agreement on the project implementation was signed by the Governor of the Amur Region, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, and the Tomsk-based company Cognitive Pilot. Investments in the project will amount to 1 billion rubles.

In the first stage, 70–80 robots will be able to autonomously cultivate up to 15,000 hectares of fields, ensuring productivity growth of up to 30%, high operational accuracy (99%), and savings on seeds, fertilizers, and fuel and lubricants. One robot is capable of replacing the labor of four people. The project includes equipment maintenance, consulting, and training for agricultural enterprises.

The RTS will provide services to farmers on a service model basis: enterprises will be able to use advanced technologies without having to purchase expensive equipment. In the future, it is planned to scale the project to most agricultural enterprises in the Amur Region.

Additionally, a Scientific and Production Center for Unmanned Aviation Systems is being created on the basis of the Far Eastern State Agrarian University, which will become a platform for interaction between developers, operators, teachers, and students. The center will allow the introduction of unmanned solutions in agriculture and other sectors of the economy, as well as develop and launch pilot scenarios for the application of technologies.

The project aims to improve the efficiency of the region's agro-industrial complex, solve the problem of personnel shortages, and introduce world-class Russian high-tech developments.
