Russia is ready to supply aviation components for the wide-body aircraft being designed in China, said First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
The politician noted that the aircraft does not yet exist, but as soon as it appears, deliveries will begin immediately. Russia, for its part, is ready for this, Manturov emphasized.
First of all, we are talking about the competencies that Russia has developed, including within the framework of the MC-21 project, the First Deputy Prime Minister specified.
This is a composite wing, and also a heavy engine based on the PD-35 gas generator, 26 tons of thrust, which is now the basis for the Il-100, a military transport aircraft, and possibly a future version of the MC-21-500 and 600, where the PD-26 will also be used. This option exists. It is up to our Chinese partners to decide.
Russia is also working on its own wide-body aircraft, but aviation expert Roman Gusarov expressed doubts about the imminent appearance of a real aircraft.
Earlier www1.ru reported that ODK has found a way to reduce the weight of the PD-8 aircraft engine for SJ-100 and Be-200 aircraft.
