In Russia, modernization and re-flashing of Pantsir-SM anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) for new anti-aircraft missiles has begun, according to retired Fighterbomber pilot.
According to him, the improvements are being carried out on site. Each complex is capable of carrying a large number of new missiles, but at the same time working on targets with old ones as well.
Both at a decent range, and at a shorter range, but with the same accuracy - with new missiles. It's perfect for drones.
Fighterbomber noted that the most important thing is that one SAM carries a lot of new missiles. They are cheaper and easier to produce.
They promise that we will soon not see installations with 50% or 1% ammunition load. It is clear that they can also be overloaded with targets, but now it will be three times more difficult to do.
Pantsir-SM also confirmed the ability of kinetic interception (hit-to-kill method) of the American MGM-140B ATACMS Block IA operational-tactical ballistic missile.
