Funding for the Russian aircraft industry will be suspended until the results of an audit of the industry by Sberbank specialists are available. This was reported by Business Online, citing a source.
According to the source, Sberbank already analyzed the industry last year, with the audit covering civilian programs: SJ-100, MS-21, Il-114, and Tu-214. Auditors visited aircraft factories in Irkutsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Kazan, and Lukhovitsy.
Experts studied the efficiency of production processes and management practices, as well as the use of budget funds.
Sber made a quite obvious conclusion about the management failure, but it was ignored: allegedly, the bankers were not sufficiently immersed in the topic, could not figure it out, and in general, they are amateurs in the aircraft industry, they shouldn’t interfere with their own rules. The topic was glossed over, but it was still impossible to completely do so, and now its time has come again.
According to the source, no trips to the factories were planned — in fact, nothing has changed. What is important is that this time the report will be presented not to Rostec and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, but directly to the head of the government, Mikhail Mishustin.
Sber, together with UAC, was instructed to create a new management model, as well as financing for the industry. It was explicitly stated that no money would be allocated until this is done.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov took a negative view of Sber's audit of the aircraft industry. In his opinion, bankers do not know the specifics of the industry, and the findings of the audit may slow down its development.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a video of the testing of the new PD-35 aircraft engine has appeared, but there is no aircraft for it yet.
