The service was actively used by fraudsters, detectives, collectors and commercial organizations

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has stopped the operation of one of the largest sites with personal data of Russians, actively used by fraudsters, commercial organizations, detectives and collectors.

According to the department, the database contained complete profiles and passport data, addresses of residence and work, information on income, credit history and other unique records. Access to it was carried out through a web form or API, the cost of services reached up to a million rubles, and some of the information was resold through Telegram and the darknet.

A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of the service operation under Part 5 and Part 6 of Article 272.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal use, collection, storage and transfer of personal data by an organized group, including transboundary).

The organizer of the database and his accomplice, who was responsible for technical support, have been detained and arrested. Server equipment with databases with a volume of 25 TB, as well as telephones, computers, accounting and contractual documentation were seized.

Receipts to the accounts of legal entities controlled by the attackers since December 2024 have exceeded 66 million rubles. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, more than two thousand users of the service are being checked, and the search for accomplices continues.
