At the ammonia and urea production plant in Kingisepp, start-up and commissioning of equipment has begun as part of the EuroChem North-West-2 project. Work is underway on water treatment plants and an automated system for managing sludge dewatering and wastewater clarification.
The water treatment system will operate in a closed cycle, complying with modern environmental standards and energy saving standards. Its capacity is designed to produce one million tons of ammonia and 1.4 million tons of urea per year.
After reaching its design capacity, the plant will be able to produce 1.5 million cubic meters of deeply demineralized water for steam generation and treat up to 3.5 million cubic meters of industrial wastewater.
High-quality water treatment prevents scale formation and corrosion of equipment, reduces maintenance costs and maintains the energy efficiency of production. The company uses modern technologies that are relevant for the coming decades.
Start-up and commissioning works are carried out in parallel with the construction of metal structures, laying of pipelines and electrical cables. The project will provide at least 250 jobs and will expand the production potential of the Leningrad region.
