The technical measurement laboratory of the KAMAZ automobile plant has begun using new equipment – a measuring microscope and a profilometer. The instruments were purchased as part of the "Bridge Production" project to improve the accuracy of quality control of parts.
As explained by the head of the laboratory, Vladimir Salychev, the new devices allow for more accurate verification of the conformity of parts to design documentation. The "Profnovator" microscope combines the functions of several devices and automates measurements, reducing the influence of the human factor. With its help, it is possible to measure geometric parameters, including diameters, angles, and the location of holes.
The profilometer is designed to assess surface roughness with an accuracy of 2–12 microns. It is equipped with different sensors, which allows measurements to be taken in hard-to-reach places. Both devices generate measurement protocols in digital form, speeding up the control process.
The laboratory expects the arrival of additional equipment. The modernization of measuring systems is aimed at improving the quality of products.
