At the enterprises of the United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec), when creating reliable aircraft engines, attention is paid to the quality of each part.
For example, aircraft engine blades are subjected to extreme loads, including vibration, high temperatures and aerodynamic stress.
Controllers carefully and thoroughly check each blade. This is a multi-stage process that includes measuring geometric parameters, visual inspection, fatigue tests, X-ray and fluorescent inspection.
X-ray inspection shows possible internal defects in parts, and fluorescent inspection shows external defects. They belong to non-destructive testing methods, which allow detecting the smallest pores and cracks.
