The head of the Russian State Traffic Inspectorate, Mikhail Chernikov, stated that the department is developing draft laws to introduce electronic versions of driver's licenses and vehicle registration certificates. In addition, it is planned to maximize the transfer of traffic police services to the "Gosuslugi.Avto" platform.
Our main task is to make "Gosuslugi" comfortable for everyone, and to minimize visits to the State Traffic Inspectorate units. You will be able to receive all services directly on "Gosuslugi.Avto." We will do this, and you will see it in the near future. We are already working on the legislative side, and we will bring everything up to par so that it is an official document that you have the right to present.
Chernikov noted that "Gosuslugi.Avto" helps minimize the risk of fraud. The service has already been downloaded by 14 million users, and it allows you to draw up sales contracts. Soon, it will be possible to present electronic versions of driver's licenses and vehicle registration certificates through the portal.
Currently, "Gosuslugi.Avto" provides the ability to obtain digital copies of vehicle registration certificates and driver's licenses, but for official presentation, they do not yet replace paper documents. The implementation of this feature is planned within the next three years.
