"Uralvagonzavod" has made significant progress in creating the heavy robotic assault tank complex "Shturm", according to the authors of the Western magazine Military Watch Magazine (MWM).
Journalists noted that the appearance of footage of the robotic complex undergoing testing indicates serious progress in the work on it.
They noted that engineers transformed the T-72 into an unmanned assault vehicle capable of leading the offensive on well-defended enemy positions, while minimizing risks to personnel. "Shturm" differs from a conventional tank by its shortened barrel of the 125-mm D-414 gun.
In terms of armament, the "Shturm" resembles the T-72, but is more adapted for combat in urban environments, for which it received a bulldozer blade to clear debris and barricades encountered along the way.
The publication did not rule out that the T-14 "Armata" tank could be used as a command vehicle to control a group of "Shturms".
Earlier www1.ru reported that shares of JSC "Zvezda" are included in the authorized capital of the submarine manufacturer of the "Yasen-M" project.
