From July 28, 2025, the Saint Petersburg Automotive Plant (formerly known as the Nissan site) has suspended the assembly of Xcite vehicles due to a corporate holiday. The production break will last until August 17. This was reported by the company's press service.
Previously, the plant was engaged in the production of Lada X-Cross 5 cars based on FAW models, but cooperation with the Chinese partner ended. In the spring of 2024, the plant started producing Xcite crossovers. First, the X-Cross 7 model (an analogue of Chery Tiggo 7 Pro) was launched into production, and then the X-Cross 8. By the end of 2024, about 20 thousand cars were assembled under the new brand.
During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025, AvtoVAZ and the Saint Petersburg Automotive Plant signed an agreement on the production of the Lada Iskra model. The assembly of the first units of the model is scheduled for September of this year.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a record number of Xcite cars were sold in June 2025 through the Lada dealer network.
