Tanks of Russian production significantly surpass western models in terms of comprehensive efficiency, Rostec stated.
The state corporation emphasized that the mobility of tanks is only one of the aspects of the assessment. In general, the comprehensive indicator of combat effectiveness consists of two parts.
The first is the direct technical characteristics of the vehicle: protection, mobility, firepower, modernity of electronics and situational awareness.
The second is indirect: tactics of use, adaptability to various combat conditions, maintainability, variability of targets, operating costs, production manufacturability, and so on. According to the comprehensive indicator, domestic tanks significantly surpass the most modern foreign counterparts.
In addition to the deeply modernized T-80BVM, Rostec supplies the military with the latest T-72B3M and T-90M "Proryv" tanks. The vehicles are equipped with multifunctional sights, modern fire control systems, guided weapons, various options for additional protection and onboard electronic warfare systems.
Russian military personnel set a new speed record for the T-80BVM tank, which was moving over rough terrain - 80 km/h, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
