Plans to build about two dozen Tu-214 aircraft per year at the Kazan Aviation Plant (part of Tupolev JSC) raise serious doubts, according to independent automotive and aviation expert Alexei Zakharov.
He recalled that production in any industry is an inertial process. Even in Soviet times, production started with one or two aircraft in the first year, five in the second year.
Acceleration is needed. The fact that the Tu-214 was produced before, of course, makes the task easier, but does not completely eliminate the problem.
The Russian aviation industry plans to produce at least 20 Tu-214 aircraft each year by 2027-2028, according to First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
In the second reading, State Duma deputies approved a bill on changes in the indicators of the federal budget for 2025. Part of the amendments concerned the financing of the creation of civil aircraft, including the modernization of aircraft communication units on special-purpose aircraft of the Tu-214 type.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that 14 MS-21 aircraft were assembled at Rostec factories to replace Airbus and Boeing.
