Tankers of the 69th Motorized Rifle Division of the Leningrad Military District set a new speed record of 86 km/h at the Kirillovsky training ground in the Leningrad Region. The lead tank, driven by Senior Sergeant Maxim Kryuchkov, developed a record speed, significantly exceeding the tactical and technical characteristics provided by the factory.

The T-80BVM belongs to the family of "flying" T-80 tanks. This title was given to the T-80U, which made a jump from a springboard during a demonstration at an exhibition in the UAE. The vehicle flew about 14 meters above the ground, landed, and successfully continued moving.

The modernized T-80BVM received a powerful 1250 hp gas turbine engine, which provides high speed to a vehicle weighing more than 40 tons.
