At the end of 2025, Russian telecom operators will receive the first thousand domestically produced base stations. They will begin to be installed on the network in early 2026. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, Maksut Shadayev, in an interview with Marina Kim for the project "New World".
We already have Russian base stations being shipped to major operators this year. They will be there at the end of the year, a thousand first 4G and 5G ready base stations will be shipped to all our major Russian operators, and from next year they will start putting them on the network.
In Russia, base stations are produced by the companies Irteya, Bulat, Spektr, and Yadro.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the government plans that by 2029 all base stations of telecom operators operating according to GSM, LTE and 5G standards will be produced in Russia. However, the Ministry of Digital Development is still adhering to the previously established deadlines for LTE equipment, which is planned to be completely replaced from 2028. At the same time, the criteria by which equipment will be considered Russian have not yet been fully determined.
