The agreement includes modernization, maintenance, and life extension of key Indian combat platforms. Among them are Russian-made MiG-29 fighters, currently operated by the Indian Air Force.

Reliance Defence and Coastal Mechanics intend to modernize the MiG-29 without dependence on the Russian component manufacturer, focusing on local components, reverse engineering, and modernization of system compatibility.

The partnership is valued at $2.34 billion. The agreement also covers L-70 anti-aircraft guns, Apache AH-64 helicopters, and over 100 Jaguar strike aircraft.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that ODK will sharply increase the production of aircraft engines.
