New initiative aims to improve the availability of travel documents for passengers

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia has proposed introducing a maximum fee for returning travel tickets on railway transport. This was announced in a press release from the agency.

According to the proposal, carriers will be able to set a fee for returning tickets in the range of 0 to 10%. The FAS is confident that this measure will perform a regulatory function and help make railway tickets more accessible to passengers.

The problem is that tickets are often unavailable from carriers due to the actions of intermediaries who buy them in large volumes and then return them at the last moment. This creates a shortage and makes it difficult for ordinary passengers to purchase tickets.

In addition, the FAS reminded that when buying train tickets, passengers can use the "waiting list" service. The service allows you to book a ticket that may become available later, which also helps to improve the availability of travel documents.
