The Il-96-400M passenger aircraft will complement the line of civil aircraft of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) in the segment of wide-body passenger aircraft. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov.
According to him, the Il-96-400M will allow offering the market, together with the MC-21-310, SJ-100 and Tu-214, aircraft of various sizes and ranges, capable of providing a route network throughout the country and replacing foreign counterparts.
The aircraft will allow developing unique Russian competencies in creating wide-body long-range aircraft, including further modernization of systems and onboard equipment, taking into account the latest technologies of intellectualization of the board in the interests of the entire Il-96 family.
The first prototype of the long-range aircraft Il-96-400M in November 2023 made its first flight, the tests were carried out in normal mode.
