"Haters" in action: fraudsters steal bloggers' accounts through insulting comments

Attackers draw attention to their profile, which contains a link to "lure" data

Fraudsters have begun stealing the accounts of novice bloggers by leaving offensive comments. They attract attention to their profile, which contains a link to obtain users' personal data, according to Solar Group.

As part of another scheme, novice bloggers may receive insulting comments on their posts. However, if you go to the "hater's" page, the description of the page will necessarily contain a link to his other social network - if you follow it and enter your login and password, it will immediately end up with the fraudsters, and the victim will lose access to the page.

Attackers have started using another scheme - giveaways on behalf of famous bloggers. It's simple: the user is invited to guess where the prize is hidden. The site shows several boxes, and then the winner can allegedly pick up the gift in real life.

The victim gets a chance to win a gift on the last try. To do this, you need to fulfill the conditions: send a link to friends on social networks or messengers and enter bank card details to pay the "commission". But in the end, all the money goes to the fraudsters, and the contest "winner" is left with nothing.

In order not to fall for the tricks of fraudsters, experts from the Solar AURA monitoring center of the Solar Group recommend using only official resources (and checking their exact address through a search engine); not to provide personal data on suspicious and unofficial websites, as well as during telephone conversations with strangers.

Experts advise installing antivirus software to protect against malware and phishing.

Earlier, another fraudulent scheme became known: attackers steal the personal data of Russian bloggers and administrators of popular channels in messengers. They send letters on behalf of well-known companies, offering cooperation. These messages contain a phishing link with a technical task.
