Импортозаместили шведский Flightradar: сервис «Авиарадар» запустят в России

Airlines will be able to use the service to monitor aircraft and analyze flight data

A new import-substituted service, "Aviadar," is being prepared for commercial launch in Russia. It will replace the popular Swedish analogue, FlightRadar24.

Since its appearance in beta version at the end of 2023, "Aviadar" provides coverage of a small area in the European part of Russia and displays single flights. The service uses a similar business model as FlightRadar24. Receivers are sent to everyone who wants them, which receive signals from ADS-B (АЗН-В) transponders installed on most aircraft. These signals are transmitted via the Internet to the "Aviadar" servers.

The receiver is a simple and inexpensive device. It includes radio parts, a GPS unit for time synchronization, and an STM32 microcontroller for data processing. Users can use single-board computers, such as Raspberry Pi, which makes the service accessible to enthusiasts.

In the future, it is planned to install receivers on microsatellites. This will allow receiving signals over the ocean or large uninhabited spaces.

Despite the service's operability, developers face a number of problems, including the need to configure equipment and process large amounts of data. The service is aimed at advanced users in the field of IT and electronics, which may limit its audience.

Airlines and airports can use the service to monitor their fleet and analyze data. Volunteers are offered advanced features (access to an online map and detailed flight information).
