The new LMS-192 "Osvey" passenger turboprop aircraft, jointly developed by Russia and Belarus, will make its first flight in 2026. This was announced by the Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, Petr Parkhomchik.
There were minor delays in the design of the aircraft, but they have already been resolved.
From 2027 to 2030, it is planned to deliver 158 "Osvey" aircraft. The new aircraft will be equipped exclusively with Russian components, including the VK-800S turboprop engine, which is also being developed by UZGA. Engine tests are planned to be carried out on the Yak-40LL flying laboratory, with the aim of obtaining a certificate by the end of 2025.
The VK-800S engine will have three modifications with a power of 807 to 877 hp. In addition to the "Osvey", it will also be installed on two other new UZGA products - the LMS-901 "Baikal" single-engine regional aircraft and the UTS-800 initial training aircraft.
The production of the new aircraft will be established in Russia and Belarus. In Baranovichi, it is planned to build three production workshops for the LMS-192, the first of which will be ready in June, and the second in 2026.
Earlier,www1.ru reported that the technical appearance of the new "Osvey" aircraftwill become known in April.
