Россия наращивает экспорт урана: Росатом заключил семь новых сделок в 2024 году

The company will continue to develop new uranium deposits in 2025

Rosatom concluded seven new deals for the supply of uranium products, including additions to existing contracts, with six customers from five countries in 2024. This is stated in Atomenergoprom's report for 2024.

All obligations under existing contracts were fulfilled in full, and uranium products were delivered to 26 customers from 13 countries.

Rosatom increased uranium production by 1% in 2024. The mineral resource base of Russian assets reached 497.2 thousand tons.

In 2025, Rosatom will continue to develop new uranium deposits. In Buryatia, it is planned to obtain a license for the Tetrakhskoye subsoil area and begin mining at the Namaruskoye deposit.

Global reactor needs for uranium in 2024 amounted to 68.7 thousand tons, and total demand is estimated at 73.8 thousand tons. In 2024, the uranium spot market was characterized by high price volatility, but the fundamental development factors remain favorable.

In the medium and long term, an increase in market prices for uranium is expected, associated with an increase in investment demand and a reduction in secondary sources. It is projected that by 2030, global reactor needs for uranium will grow to 83.8 thousand tons, and by 2040 — to 129.9 thousand tons, according to data from the World Nuclear Association.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Rosatom is creating equipment for the first SMR unit in Uzbekistan.
