Attackers have begun to scam Russians out of money by posing as employees of marketplace pick-up points. They offer to deliver previously ordered goods to your home, but require you to provide your SNILS, TIN and sometimes a code from an SMS. This was announced by Daria Verestnikova, CEO of cybersecurity company STCrypt (SafeTech Group).
Scammers regularly improve and update ways to take money from the public. Recently, a scheme has been gaining popularity where you receive a call supposedly from a marketplace pick-up point offering to deliver ordered goods to your home. However, to arrange delivery, you need to provide personal data: SNILS, TIN and sometimes even a code from an SMS.
After talking to an employee of the order pick-up point and transferring data for delivery, the user receives a call from a person who introduces himself as a "comrade major". He reports a hack of "Gosuslugi" and claims that the user's money is in danger.
The attacker convinces the victim to urgently transfer funds to a special account or hand them over in cash to police officers. At the same time, the user's account remains untouched, and the message comes from a fake number.
The specialist explained that this type of fraud works because people have the idea that you can easily apply for a loan using your "Gosuslugi" account.
Earlier www1.rureported that cases of fraudwith the hacking of "Gosuslugi" have become more frequent in recent days. Attackers send SMS messages that mimic notifications from the portal. After receiving the message, users are invited to call the "support service" numbers. The text of the messages reads: "GosUslugi. An authorization was detected on the GosUslugi portal."
