The ballistic trajectory of the 152-mm projectile, which was used 80 years ago, was calculated using an artillery aiming circle, and it was impossible to influence it after the shot. The latest high-precision Krasnopol munitions correct their flight along a laser beam reflected from the target, Rostec State Corporation reported.
Aerodynamic rudders are responsible for controlling the trajectory of the munition as it approaches the target.
As a result, the accuracy is such that even at maximum range, the enemy has almost no chance. Target accuracy is also ensured by drones working in conjunction with calculations.
The 152 mm Krasnopol can be used by all types of domestic artillery systems, including modern self-propelled howitzers Koalitsiya-SV, Msta-S and Msta-SM. Its flight range is 20 km, and the weight of the warhead is 8 kg. The target designator of the Krasnopol complex is capable of capturing up to three targets simultaneously.
The latest modification of the projectile is the 155 mm Krasnopol-M2 with a firing range of 26 km, as well as increased accuracy in hitting small targets. In addition, it has increased combat power and the possibility of use at any time of the day, in strong winds and cloud cover.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the latest counter-battery radar based on the Tigr-M armored vehicle has been developed in Russia.
