Half-Century-Old Soviet T-62M Tanks Equipped with Modern Electronic Warfare System and Dynamic Protection

Upgraded combat vehicles spotted at the Victory Parade in Stavropol

An unusual modification of the Soviet T-62M tank with modern components was spotted at the parade for the 80th anniversary of Victory in Stavropol.

The combat vehicle received the modern Triton electronic warfare system and Roof dynamic protection.

Triton is designed to suppress control and data transmission channels of FPV drones. It is known that the complex operates in four frequency bands: 868, 915, 1300 and 2400 MHz. Triton can also be controlled remotely from a remote control. It can be charged both autonomously from the battery and from the on-board network of the tank.

The T-62 was adopted in 1961, with a mass of 37 tons it is considered a medium weight tank. Initially, the tanks were equipped with V-shaped 12-cylinder diesel engines with a capacity of 580 hp.

Later they were replaced with more powerful V-46-5M engines with a capacity of 690 hp, which allowed them to accelerate up to 50 km/h on highways, and up to 27 km/h on dirt roads.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the latest counter-battery radar based on the Tigr-M armored vehicle was developed in Russia.
