The latest Russian multi-functional fighters of the "4++" generation MiG-35 have for the first time begun to be used to intercept drones. This was reported by the information agency ANNA News.
According to his information, the aircraft were transferred to the Moscow Military District. The fighters have already shot down several unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the aircraft type.
Flight tests of the MiG-35 started in 2017. According to the general designer of the United Aircraft Corporation, Sergei Korotkov, the MiG-35 has already been used in combat operations. At the moment, the issue of its serial production has not yet been resolved.
MiG-31K fighters, related to the MiG-35, are carriers of hypersonic Kinzhal missiles. They are used to engage particularly important targets.
