The new tactics of using Russian kamikaze drones «Герань-2» has significantly increased their effectiveness, as at high altitudes the drones are inaccessible to anti-aircraft machine guns.
«Герани» began to fly at high altitudes — from 2,000 to 2,500 meters — and form groups of up to 20 drones for simultaneous attacks on targets.
Operating at such altitudes makes «Герани» inaccessible to anti-aircraft guns and a number of missile systems. Approaching the target, «Герани» dive at high speed to hit the object.
Also, the military began to use a new реактивный UAV «Герань-3», whose distinctive feature is the high flight speed at the final stage of the route. Experts say that it can reach 600 km/h.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia has begun testing the latest satellite communication system for UAVs.
