In 2012, the «Russian Railways» (RZD) company became a participant in the construction of the «Vostochny» Cosmodrome. Hundreds of thousands of tons of cargo were delivered along steel highways to the construction site — the «Ledyanaya» station of the Trans-Baikal Railway.

Ledyanaya Station got its name from the eponymous spring. It is located in the Svobodnensky district of the Amur region. Today, the station handles the key cargo flow for the needs of Roscosmos State Corporation, including the delivery of complex equipment to the cosmodrome.
The «gateway to space» opened in 2016. In nine years, about two dozen launches have been carried out from the «Vostochny» Cosmodrome.
