In one of the Ural units of radiation, chemical and biological protection troops, tests of a portable version of the 902V "Tucha" smoke protection system were successfully completed. This was reported by "Krasnaya Zvezda".
The new solution will allow the military to quickly create aerosol smoke screens without the use of equipment, providing camouflage for the covert movement of forces, especially in areas where there are no natural shelters.
Specialists of the flamethrower and aerosol counteraction battalion adapted "Tucha" to portable use within six months, making the system autonomous and safer to operate.
The 902V "Tucha" system was previously used exclusively as a means of setting up smoke screens from the бортов armored vehicles — from tanks and combat vehicles.
The portable version opens up new tactical possibilities: now a smoke screen can be set up in hard-to-reach places where it is impossible to use equipment, as well as in conditions where rapid deployment of camouflage is required.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a new communication system for kamikaze drones has been developed in Russia: it bypasses all existing electronic warfare equipment.
