Novosibirsk State University (NSU) has manufactured the first batch of four devices for the "Grifon" global Earth monitoring system. Vitaly Prokopyev, head of the Aerospace Research Department of NSU, told reporters about this on April 8.
We manufactured the four that were needed, as promised — manufactured in a year.
Prokopyev also added that the devices are currently undergoing verification and testing. NSU specialists continue to actively work in the field of small satellite development, as the university has already accumulated significant experience in this area.
Currently, NSU is the main developer of the program to create a global Earth monitoring system called "Grifon". The project plans to launch 136 spacecraft based on the "Cubesat" platform.
In the future, one of the "Roscosmos" enterprises will be engaged in the serial production of satellites. This was announced by the rector of NSU, Mikhail Fedoruk.
The "Grifon" system is capable of creating products and services that are as close as possible to real-time conditions in the field of remote sensing of the Earth.
The space monitoring system collects up-to-date data at least once every 40 hours across the planet and every 30 hours from the territory of Russia. The satellite observation system allows you to receive images with an accuracy of up to three meters.
