UAZ is preparing a new modification of the "Patriot" model in a promising modification with a 2.0-liter JAC turbodiesel and a 6-speed manual transmission. The first reviews of the car have appeared; in the specification for the SUV, the engine has a power of 136 hp and a torque of 320 Nm.
Journalist Kirill Sazonov noted after the test drive that there are no "diesel" vibrations in the cabin, but the whistle of the engine turbine is clearly audible in the cabin.
The "short" first gear is designed for confident starting with a full load. The six-speed manual transmission has a cable drive, so the gear shifting mechanism is clear and light.
Some elements of the cabin are also pre-production. For example, the trim of the central tunnel is a piece of plastic screwed on with ordinary self-tapping screws with a cutout for the gear lever. The control unit for the all-wheel drive modes with buttons for engaging the differential lock, as well as the keys for heated seats and steering wheel, were clearly placed according to the principle of "stuck in where there was space."
External changes to the car will be pinpoint. For example, LED optics will be introduced and the media system will be updated, but the body panels will remain the same, since their stamping was recently updated. Changes in design, such as new bumpers or fenders, are not planned.
