Device for Collecting Fuel Oil in the Black Sea to be Developed in Tomsk

TSU Scientists to Create a New Device That Will Simplify the Work of Divers

Scientists from Tomsk State University (TSU) are working on a new device for collecting fuel oil in the Black Sea. A prototype is planned to be created within a month.

The device will help divers collect fuel oil from the bottom faster and more efficiently. The development involves specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Marine Rescue Service, who shared their experience and advice.

The main task for cleaning the Black Sea is to remove fuel oil from the bottom. As the temperature rises, the fuel oil becomes more mobile, and it is more difficult to collect manually. The new device will have a manipulator that will simplify the work of divers underwater.

The technology is called "Aeroshchup." Its testing was carried out in Anapa. A prototype of the device can lift more than a ton of fuel oil per hour. As the water temperature rises, the efficiency of the device will increase.

The "Aeroshchup" technology is the only one in Russia that has received environmental approval and is authorized for use throughout the country. It allows cleaning water without excavation and chemicals.
