Merhaba, Türkiye!: Sber, VTB, and MTS Launch QR Code Payments in Turkey

Sberbank's service is operating in test mode

Sberbank, VTB, and MTS have launched a new feature - paying for purchases in Turkey using QR codes via a mobile application. Payments are made in rubles, which are converted to Turkish lira. No commission is charged to users.

At Sberbank, the service is currently operating in test mode, and the full launch of the service is scheduled for the end of March. At VTB and MTS, the service has been available since March 12.

You can pay by QR code at all points of sale that support this method, including popular stores, cafes, and restaurants. To make a payment, the user needs to open the VTB, Sber, or MTS application, scan the QR code at the checkout, and confirm the transaction. In the "My MTS" application, you should go to the "Money" tab and select "Payment by QR code."

As part of the development of the MTS Fintech direction, we launched the service so that customers feel more free when traveling abroad. You no longer need to waste time searching for ATMs and exchange offices, and worry about whether there is enough cash on hand in the local currency.
