It is planned to increase the aircraft's resource to the next overhaul from 20 thousand to 26 thousand flight hours.

The contract for more than 7 million rubles was signed on March 5. The customer was the sole supplier, whose name is not disclosed. The term of work is until January 26, 2028.

Earlier, regional airlines, including "Angara", "IrAero" and "Polar Airlines", requested an extension of the service life of Soviet An-26 transport aircraft and An-24 passenger aircraft.

At the end of 2023, there were about 100 such aircraft in Russia, with an average age of 50 years. Airlines warned that in five years, about a quarter of the fleet of these aircraft would no longer fly.

Currently, there is no replacement for the An-24 and An-26. The aviation industry is working on creating new regional aircraft, such as the Il-114-300 and "Ladoga", but their delivery dates have been postponed.

Earlier www1.ru reported that "Yakovlev" is actively working on creating three prototypes of the newest Yak-130M combat trainer. When the first flight will take place will be known after the completion of the first prototype and ground testing of the aircraft.
